removing ignition (the cylinder assembly at the steering wheel)
I am looking at buying a parts car that has no keys. What is involved with taking out the ignition switch so the steering lock is disabled and can shift into neutral (auto car)
Thanks.
Thanks.

Images of ignition cylinder
I just happen to have a spare steering column (project car)...
The ignition lock is attached by 2 security bolts. You would need to drill the heads off of those to remove the lock. As you can see in the images, you'll need to drop the column from the dash to access the bolts. It may be easier to have a locksmith unlock the cylinder for you.
Issues with the links for my images, I'll post them later today.
Edit: Images finally decided to play nice with me

Well I was outbid on this car and can not afford to go any higher on it. Auction is over on Jan 20. McDougall Auctions Current bid is $350. Was from Ontario and in 7 or 8 front end collisions , moved to Saskatoon Sk. and was total loss in 2011. Car fax report provided by auction.
