Racing Voltage Stabilizer?

Ran across this doohicky on eBay: Racing Voltage Stabilizer and immediately wondered if it might cure the idle problems some people are having.

Thoughts, anyone? Or better yet, experience with one of these units?

I don't know if the product is worth a darn but with that kind of installation for the promo photo I wouldn't bother to spend the money to find out!

So they connect it across the battery (from the photo on ebay). How is it supposed to control anything? It -may- just be a capacitor!

I suspect it is a money generator for the maker .

Kinda what I thought. Looks too much like those "Add 22 HP for $20!!!" POS things that appear all the time.

This product is guaranteed to lighten your wallet - that's about it. It appears to just be a large capacitor (like the ones used by the audio guys with the big amps). The 8 doesn't have any high transient electrical load that might be helped by such a device.
