Question about cel P0571 cause
I have the P0571 code pop up and wondering if its related to the other headlight sensor issue I have.
Recently had an issue with my auto-leveling headlight sensor on the front.
Totally corroded inside the sensor to beyond repair.
So i decided to unplug the sensor for now until i get a replacement. (due to lights aimed at ground)
Could this be causing the P0571 brake/cruise/abs and traction control code to come on?
Or do I have another issue starting out.
any info gratefully appreciated.
Paul.

the shop manual says this:
• The PCM monitors the input signal from brake switch No.1 and brake switch No.2 when the engine is running. If the both input signals remain on or off, the PCM determines that there is a brake switch input circuit problem.

hmm.
brake switches. If traction control and cruise control is part of this system is the auto-leveling sensor part of it?

To answer my own question.
No the Traction control / auto-leveling headlights / cruise / ABS systems do not have anything to do with the P0571 code.
Although I did test the traction control does not work if the fault is present.
And to wrap up my issue.
The ABS and traction control lights on the dash are indications that your brake lights do not work.
I found a blown fuse. Replaced it. Blown again.
Tested some of the wires and found a short to ground from battery to brake switch and ended up wiring in a new fresh set of wires.
Issue gone, although I still have an auto-leveling headlight issue.
My confusion between the two systems of auto-leveling headlight and this code was because 100 miles earlier I unplugged the front auto-leveling headlight sensor due to corrosion so I thought maybe that is what caused this code to appear.
