possible fix for idle vibration in seats

I wasn’t sure if I should post this here or in the interior section, but since it is kinda technical, I figure I’ll start here. One of the few little annoyances I have with the car is the vibration at idle you feel through the seat (that slight shimmer, shudder, what ever you want to call it)

So I got thinking, the seats are bolted directly to the floor (obviously) which is prolly helping to transmit that vibration. If I installed some little rubber ring bushings and a washer under the screws that hold the seat down, it would absorb that vibration in a similar fashion to the engine mounts.

Now, these would have to be pretty thin, as you wouldn’t want to lessen the structural integrity of the seat mounts for safety reasons, but I think its something that could work.

What do you guys think? Good? Bad? Crazy?

Might work if the bushings where thick. Once you tighten the seat bolts thin bushing would not make a difference

I have not noticed this vibration, but this does sound plausible as a fix.

I have some "left over" rubber shock absorber bushings I'll try tomorrow.
They're about an inch thick and probably have to be split in half.
Thanks for the idea Brillo!

well, this idea is on hold until I fix a seat bold I cross threaded. the bushing I was using had a center hole that was tight and mess up the bolt alignment. Becareful screwing the bolts back in.
