VA obd2 scanner

anybody buy any mazda scanners that work well with the 8? any input?

I bought mine of ebay for 40 bucks works fine

Any scanner will work with the 8...the key is to bring the code here so you can get the rotary version of the code because it really sucks to try and diagnose a cam problem on the 8.

most of the P and U series of codes are universal to all vehicles using the modern regulated CANbus systems.

example P2109 - Throttle Postion Sensor minimum stop range/performance problem is the same on any vehicle, only minor details if any will be different from vehicle to vehicle. Its an industry standard.

Are there really that many that don't support CAN?

Nowadays... no.
But people might have older scanners or some might be selling their used units online.
If buying new, wouldn't worry about it.
Buying used... I would verify.
