O2 sensor and possibly MAF gone bad

Hey guys, I recently got a check engine light with P0411 and P0172 indicating im running rich and I have secondary air flow problems. Tech came back and told me my 02 sensor is shot and the MAF should probably be replaced as well. He's asking 600 for the 02 and 300 for the MAF. I just wanted to see what other people have paid for this work and if I was getting ripped off. Any feedback or suggestions is appreciated, thanks.

I have a known working MAF and front O2 sensor you can have for 200 shipped... came off an 05 with 104k miles.

Those prices are ridiculous. The MAF is especially easy to replace on your own. It is two screws and an electrical connector. The front O2 sensor is a little more difficult to get to but it's still something that can be done in a day even for beginners.

Thanks. I have cleaned the maf a few times before, I didn't realize they went for so cheap. Wasn't sure if the O2 sensor was out of my league, I don't really have a way of getting it elevated to work on it myself. Suppose I could rent some time at a place to do it.

If you need a cheap upstream O2 sensor, I got mine for $172 shipped brand new from PartsGeek. I was skeptical at first buying Bosch instead of Denso for about $300, but it works perfect.

Edit: It looks like the prices went up for the Bosch. I see then all going for about $240 now... Perhaps they made a mistake on pricing when I bought mine Lol.

Just going with the O2, got the oem part for a little over 300. Crossing my fingers that this solves the problem and the cat is ok

Before you buy a new MAF sensor, buy a $5 can of electrical contact cleaner, clean your MAF, and see if it solves your issues.

Absolutely. The mechanic said it was going bad, not really definitive. I heard that second hand and the guy wouldnt take the time to tell me the what and why. Haven't been screwed at this dealership yet, but im not going to buy a part with no explanation.
