Hi, I've done a search and found what I was looking for in terms of programing the key fob. But it still hasn't worked for me.

These instructions curteous of Stealth I found in a search:
Key in,
Ignition On/Off, 3 times,
Push door switch, 3times,
- Car will lock, then unlock-
Push 'Lock' on first remote, 2 times,
~ ~ ~ second ~ , 2 times,
~ ~ ~ third (new) , 2 times,

Now all 3 are accepted by the car.

The first question I have is, do I need the original or more than one fob to do this? The car didn't come with a key fob, only the master key so I purchased a fob off ebay. Also, according to the instructions I should leave the door open when I 'push door switch, 3x' right? Ebay listing said the fob works for an rx8, FCC ID: KPU41805 visteon model:41848

Ok, I figured out how to do it, I'll leave the thread open in case others encounter the same problem. The instructions didn't seem to point this out to me but there's a rubber stopper in the door jam, it's a little lower than chest height, push it in, you'll know you got it if the car stops beeping because it thinks the door is now closed, even though it isn't. Another thing, make sure you do it pretty quickly, I think it all has to be done in under 30 seconds, if you don't get it in time, pull the key out wait 40 seconds and try it again. My major confusion was 'push door switch' to me was locking the door, apparently not.
