JDM y0! Fujita Engineering Exhaust Manifold

Just got it yesterday in mail, it's @#!@# expensive for what it is, but hey its JDM so it must be faster right ? ...

The quality is quite good to be honest, due to it's pipe shape so it fits 6 mt only, this is the last one they have and they have a newer version that fits all models (including S2)

what you guys think about it ?

"their" dyno said it adds about 7 ps and 3kg of torque, *heh*

Looks nice, could have waited for the BHR (might have been cheaper).

No air injection?

there is air injection hole. Japan has pretty strict emission laws.

I'm out of NYC where my 6MT 8 resides, and the Rx8 I have overseas is a pathetic 4at ... so I won't be able to use this for a while. gonna swap engine for the 4at soon, sell it, then get a 6mt again

I've got a OBX the two bigest diferances I see is the bends and the gathering point of the three pipes. I'll start at the bends the OBX uses as little bends as possible and keeps the pipes closely grouped they come out of the port and make a fast turn back. Problem with this is flow and heat. The titely grouped piping gathers a lot of heat and can't exspell it as not enough air passes through. Your header has long spaced curvs allowing for better flow and the exspoltion of heat as they are not closly grouped.

The other point is where they come together. The OBX fails here to as the OBX don't come into one till the end where it connects to the test pipe (or cat if you have it) this has messed with my bank1 O2 as it can't get a good read from all three ports. Yours comes into one be for, leveing enough room for gasses to hit the bank1 O2 from all three ports.

Don't get me wrong I like my OBX but it could use some more R&D. Welds are good and holding material is good quality too. If you get good numbers from that header I might consider a change. Even with the 2k price tag.

For the price, you can't complain much about OBX headers.

As far as I know this header is probably one of the best out there, their official numbers said 7ps and 3kg of toruqe increase, when I have a chance I will do a dyno, but its gonna be couple of months before I can do that.

Don't get me wrong I like my OBX headers I was just making a comparative observation between the OBX I have and the one you have. For the price OBX can't be beat the only real problem with OBX is the bank1 O2 but with a little tuning that is fixable. I have thought about moving the O2 back onto the test pipe to see if it would pick up right.

Edit
This is just for you 9k "HEADER" as there is only one on the rx8

I am curious what are people's thoughts on Fujita's header in comparison to RE Amemiya's? When I think about Amemiya I think about their awesome tuned Rotary vehicles that has been unbeatable for a while. However, there are some REALLY amazing Rotary tuners out there now (i.e., Fujita, Knight Sports, etc.).

Fujita has truly been proving themselves as one of the closest rivals to Amemiya. What are you thoughts guys? How is the fabrication of the Amemiya header compared to Fujita's? The Fujita one looks REALLY amazing! Beautiful welds!

I use this Japanese car blogging site to get a good idea of what product are popular there. It's also a good image source for JDM goodies that no one else around the world has.

Exhaust Manifold

Looking at the exhaust manifolds, the FEED (Fujita Engineering フジタエンジニアリング) exhaust manifold isn't one of the popular ones. They all seem to go for NRF, R-Magic and RE-Amemiya.

Interesting this one looks just like the OBX I have and it seems to have a five star rating over there. By just like I mean exactly like it the only difference I can see is the mounting plate looks better than the OBX.

That's RE-Amemiya's exhaust manifold. Lots of places copy their designs.

You seemed offended? I hope you are not misunderstanding me. I understand that they have been around for 30 years. All I am trying to say is that RE Amemiya's products has been more proficient than most other rotary tuners out there for a long time. But it has been since the past 10-15 years that FEED has been really doing well and comparable to RE Amemiya products. I do not mean in quality (I am sure their quality is immaculate), but I meant in performance and numbers.

I hope I was not confusing in my explanation.

put it this way, RE-Amemiya is a company that's more "active" and they "likes to show off" around, they have been doing this for decades, so people for some reason "think" their products are superior to everyone else. dont get me wrong they do have great products but, when you keep hearing some company's name come up from tv shows and magazines, you tend to think that "oh, this must be the best"

Fujita Engineering on the other hand is more on the "quiet" side, they do show up from time to time but they're just not as active as company like RE-Amemiya.

Think of this like KOBE beef and Matsuita(I think that's how u pronouce it?) beef. most people in the world knows only "KOBE BEEF", cuz they're really good at marketing the name "KOBE BEEF", but in Japan there are other beef that's just as good if not better than KOBE beef.
