Hybrid HO Alternator?

Hi,
I found my old NIB Civic HO alternator (car is obd2 if it matters), and I would like to know if it's possible to take the back portion off and use it on my RX8, possibly would need build a bracket to fit the alternator on the motor, but is it possible to just take off the back portion that belongs to the civic and solder the new connection for my RX8? has anybody done it on other cars? I tried to find a DIY on how to do that, but I could. Thanks.

Loud stereo, users say that the amp with the subwoofer need around 130amps, so I thought about trying to fit this alternator instead of buying one that's for rx8....(super expensive around 500$ from dc power)

u can get a high output 200 amp alternator for around 200 something

but i will be careful and install bigger wire to the battery, just to be safe

stock 100 amp is barely enough for the stock stuff, i am using a 140 amp and i think it gives everything the extra oomph when its needed the most, especially stuff like coils and power steering

so doing this wouldnt disturb the built in regulator/pcm relationship?
Isnt the 09 a swap over once the pulley is changed?

It won't, the regulator just making sure it's pumping the right voltage, so the alternator output will not go 18v and fried everything.

the 09 has a bigger Alternator?

To be honest, I think S1 (dunno about S2) alternator @ 100 amp is a freaking joke. 100 amp Alternator means it will pump around 85-90 amp on a good day, and alternator degrades overtime, which will stress the electrical components even more. maybe that's why our coil is having such a hard time working and overheating left & right ?

i understand that the S2 alternator is a 120amp unit. Not much more but every little bit helps....

IT IS ?

**** , didn't know that.

it should be a direct swap minus the pulley, maybe I should see if I can grab one cheap and check it out. Well not like I need it cuz I already have a 140 amp, but might not be a bad thing to "try"
