Horn stopped working!

Horn was working fine when I got the car a little bit ago, but stopped working after having yanked the negative cable on the battery. When I boguht the car it did not have a keyfob, just 1 single key. In the process of trying to program the keyfob I bought the alarm went off and would not shut off at all. Not realizing that all I needed to do was put the key in the door and turn it, I yanked the negative cable on the battery.

When reinstalling the negative cable the alarm kept going off. So I eventually yanked the horn relay from under the hood until i figured out that all I needed ot do was turn the key in the door.

I reinstalled the horn relay but ever since then the horn will not work at all. Doesnt work when I hit the steering wheel and will not blip when I use the keyfob to lock/unlock the car. I never got anywhere near the horn at all nor touched any of the wiring aside from yanking the relay and reinstalling it.

Any suggestions what to try or has anyone else had this issue?

Sorry for not putting that in above. But the fuse is fine and not blown. I even swapped it with the fog fuse and the same fuse works fine there just not with the horn.

Sorry that this thread seems stupid but I just yanked the fuse and put it bakc in and the horn won't work anymore. Not sure of the cause for this issue.

Did you test the fuse? Just remove the horn and put it to 12v, if it works then you need to look at a diagram.

I tested the fuse swapping it into the fog light slot since it too runs a 15. The fuse works fine on the fogs so the fuse is good.

I don't know if the horn itself got fried or blew out from going off and off with the alarm, but I didn't get anywhere near the horn itself and aside from the negative battery cable and the horn fuse touched nothing else.

I wasn't sure if there is some sort of reset for it by chance (like the ecm fuse)

Hard to say but testing the horn itself is easy.

Thats what I was thinking I'll have to do as a last resort. I posted this to se eif anyone else had theirs just cut out like that or had pulled their horn fuse and it never worked again. Just seems odd that it would do this. I was thinking there was an alarm reset function/process but the horn doesn't work when I hit the steering wheel either so it has nothing to do with the alarm, appears to be the horn itself. lame that it just wont work!

Pissed me off since some dbag cut me off the other day and I went to hit the horn and nothing happened

I actually took the front bumper off for a replacement last month and planned to check the horn but I honestly couldn't even find the damn thing to try and test it.

It's on the passenger side near the oil cooler. I'm not sure if there is more than one or not but I don't think so.

And the relay is where I would start inspecting... especially since you said the fuse is fine.

Awesome thanks for that diagram! I don't know why I had a brain fart on this one. I yanked the Relay during the time when the horn was going off incessantly due to programming the keyfob and maybe I shorted the relay out if it was in the midst of getting power and switching on/off while it was yanked. The fusde itself is perfectly fine as it works in the fog light slot.

I'll figure out where to get a horn relay or if one of the other relays would also work so I can try swapping that over and see if it works before I buy one. By chance are any of you privy to know if there is one that is possibly swapable with the horn that I can try to test it with? I;m at work and the car isnt with me or I'd just start testing other relays.

The relays have part numbers written on them. Just match it with another relay in the panel and swap them.
