Fc Clutch?

So a year or so ago, at a rotary event, I remember hearing a rep from Exedy say that the clutches in the Fc and Rx8 were the same. I have searched for more info on this, since I don't want to buy one then it not work (fc clutches costing less than the 8 at Oreilys), but haven't been able to find anything. Can anyone validate this information?

From an OEM Part Number point of view, none of the clutch part numbers are the same as an FC RX-7.

Having said that it is quite possibly they look identical, but, the only difference is perhaps clutch plate compound material, number of rivets, or pressure plate spring strength.

Just remember the RX-8 has a higher maximum RPM engine when compared to the FC.

Aftermarket clutches for those two vehicles often cross-reference to one another.
