Engine rattle and stalling

Picked up an 05 GT last night. It's a 6spd with 98k miles on the body and 24k on a Mazda reman engine. The issue that it's having is that the engine will stall when at normal operating temperature. When cold it fires up instantly and idles and runs well. As the engine warms up I hear what sounds like a rod knock and there's some vibration present. The idle increases a little and the knocking sound goes away and the idle smooths out. It goes back and forth until the engine stalls. It will then not restart and act as if it's flooded. I ran a cold compression test and got 120psi on the front rotor and 90 psi on the rear rotor. I realize this is a good spread but I have about the same spread on my 04 and it runs and drives just fine with no stalling or rattling. I replaced the plugs which looked pretty nasty and the idle was better but not much different when warm. The coils and wires are original and the car has been sitting for a unlearn so I have no idea what the condition or octane rating of the fuel is. I do realize that I will need to drain and fill the tank with fresh gas and replace the coils and wires. I'll do that this week. But stalling when warm is weird. Car accelerates very well and drives ok. Rattling is present when driving as well. Not sure if it's knock from poor fuel and weak ignition or something else. No DTC's are present. I checked it with my snap on solus. Looking for some ideas or if someone has experienced similar issues. I can post a video once I get back home.

I fear that the knocking is rear stationary gear bearing failure...
