Question Engine Code

I was thinking about this a few days ago and I was wondering what the engine code for the RX-8 is going to be (both Auto and 6 speed versions). I know that it is a Renesis engine, but with other car companies they ussually have codes for example Honda and their B-Series, K/D/H/ect-
I'm tired and it may sound retarded and as if I'm writing jibberish, but if anybody knows whta I'm talking about I'd be much abliged.

yes, i too am tired of writing RENESIS everytime i wanna say the name of the engine... just doesn't have that alphanumeric ring that 13B, or 13BREW ("git me another beer!!") does...

the 13RE?? 13C?? REN-1??

Dug this up from the past.... WAY past... but does anyone know the answer to the question in the first post?

Engine code for manual?

Engine code for automatic?

Or is it just Renesis?

Thanks.

Speaking of old threads, hows this for Nostalgia?

In the last few weeks and days before pre-order delivery......we could just sit and speculate on why our new RX8's were sitting and......sitting at port.

Were they "installing new dipsticks"?

Were they "inspecting them one by one"?

Were they waiting for port option accessories..?

Were they (popular opinion) "waiting for the east coast cars to arrive at port so a nation wide roll out could be achieved"?

We had spies (three rotor) on the West coast, armed with a video camera.

We had shipping schedules and names of the specific ocean liners transporting out Rx8's.

Who new the hold up was a group of people going car to car reflashing our PCM's stealing ponies away.......

Ahhh memories.
BTW I think is OK to highjack a year old dormant thread...

much like the first generation RX-7's, there are different ones for left and right hand drive, it appears...

FE for the north american market cars (you can check it yourself), and SE (or something, i can't remember...) on the japanese ones i've heard of so far.

Being a newbie rotary owner I try to use the search feature as much as possible before starting a new thread.

Sometimes, though, I'll try a subject line search only and don't get much. I wish people wouldn't entitled their threads... "I've got a question" or "Guess what happened to me today."

I usually boycott those threads (absent searches) for that reason. If you can address your thread in the subject line, you shouldn't be posting.

I'm also a former moderator on another board (Third Generation Eclipse).

BTW, where do you find the engine code information?

The 13B MSP is derived from the old 13B rotor casting. Its addition of "Multi side ports" gives the new engine the MSP suffix.

The numbers are found on each rotor housing above the spark plugs.

Heres an example of a 12A rotor housing. The renesis housings are stamped in the same spot with 13B.
