Electronic engine protection
Does anyone know if there are any electronic restraints placed on the engine that are automatically lifted when the engine hits a certain mileage? Specifically, has anyone documented an increase in performance at a certain mileage, beyond the usual break in point?
You would think that Mazda is dialing back the engine in general to insure durability/reliability at the expense of performance, as evidenced by the numerous factory reflashes, some of which (M) actually seem to help performance. With all the brain power on this board, I'm sure it's a matter of time before the granny codes are busted.
