(shrug). Nothing wrong with that - depends on the situations. Speed doesn't hurt anyone. Poor driving hurts people.

The speed limiter is there so you dont kill yourself doing something stupid like racing a MB SLK 230 on the road

I'm convinced people back east aren't aware there exists miles - tens of miles - SCORES Of miles of uninhabited flat, straight freeway out west.

hehe

Maybe he was racing the Merc on a track? :D

Don't know about those western states, but it's impossible in Jersey to drive 10 miles on a highway and not see a cop or three

Insterstate 90 can be desolate. Here is the 'twisty' part. lol :D

Just a side note, I was reading King County (where Seattle is) is, by itself, larger than FOUR states.

I thought there wasn't a limiter in our 8. It is only "drag limited" to 145mph or something.

i've had no problem exceeding 145mph (149 is my top), and no problem destroying a little kompressor benz on the highway

Red face

the SL kick in at 5th gear 187 km/h never try 6th, my 8 has 218 hp in butt dyno so i expect more than 187 km/h, today i intend to install A'pexi rev/speed meter it said it can bypass the SL...so wish me luck

Speedaholic, looks like yours is the JDM model, so the speed limiter is set at 187kmh. Well, let us know if the Apexi stuff helps.
