Thumbs up Brake Squeal Solved by Mazda, new TSB

Mazda had released a new TSB regarding front brake squeal. This applies to th "sport package" which has the 18" wheels and larger brakes. The TSB requires the dealer to change your front pads with a new redesigned pad and also insert shims. I had this done this past week and I am thrilled with the results. No squeal at all. It was getting pretty embarassing to pull up to a stop sign in a brand new, cool as hell car and hearing eeeeeeeeeeeeek. If you have this problem, get it back to the dealer ASAP. TIP- tell them the brakes squeal all of the time otherwise they may not do it.....

I havent read the board in a week and this is the first post I have seen of it. So maybe you just jumped the gun a bit about telling someone to search.

Are you an admin? Didn't think so.

So no one cares to ask about pad material or what was changed to make them quiet? Do they stop as well?

I have heard that they do not. I imagine there is more graphite/ less metal to reduce the squeal.

To hell with that! I'd rather have loud, but good brakes.

Im sure they will be ok for street use. If you are going to be going to the track I would switch the stock pads out anyway.
