All: I plan to go to the dealership and purchase the 100K/7 year warranty since I heard if you plan to drive a car to its grave it's the thing to do. QUESTION: Since Mazda's warranty has been bumped up to 4 years/50K miles, is it worth the $2300 to extend the warranty til 100K/7 years?

They came down from $2400 to $1200 for the 100K warranty at signing, but I didn't buy it. My '07 came with comp. at 3/36K and drive train at 5/60K so I couldn't see any reason to purchase more for something that's covered for the life I will own it.
I just sold my 3rd gen RX-7 so you would think that I should know better, but whatever, if the car proves to be problematic I will pay the $2K in three years. For now I am saving it for gas and track time while it is still under warranty. Just kidding about the track time for all you claim adjusters. This car is for daily driving only, scout's honor.

For you, if you are going to live with it forever, then yes, overtime you will feel like a hero everytime you take it for $50 deductable on a $800 job. They have room with this, so dangle the carrot in front of them and pull it away if they aren't willing to come down.

when we bought the wifes car 05 rx 8 BB , we bought the 100k's for 5 yrs , zero ded. , also we purchased the wheel and tire warranty if I remember right it was around 1800.00 .
