Need help with nitrous safe activation

Can some body please tell me what is the safest way to activate nitrous in the AT Rx8? I read a few post that it should not be activated below 4500 or you will break something. How do you back off the nitrous if you just want to drive the car normally after a quick hit of the juice? After reading post after post of how it done in the manual I still have no idea how to safely do it in the AT. Can somebody find Easy I need some help?

I can do that, but then I have to ask how do I go back to driving without nitrous or causing a lean/rich condition? Can I just disarm the nitrous and then go back to regular AT driving? Additionally, if run the nitrous in tiptronic mode what would be the best gear to give the car the juice?

That makes sense. What type of switch do you use to activate the nitrous? Would a toggle switch with a protective cap be the right choice? I am looking to add the bottle opener, the bottle heater, the arming switch, and a button to give it the juice. How many swtiches do I need? I am assuming I need a switch for each one, but is there a way to combine the bottle opener, the bottle heater, and the arming switch all in one toggle switch? Also can somebody refer me to somebody in Maryland who can help me out?

im in pa and put my kit in myself, if u want to take a drive. my zex kit came with a toggle and the red cover. i would leave the arming sw by itself. the kit recomened for our cars doesnt need another sw to spray. once activated it sprays only at wot. not sure bout the heater ane opener together, but im sure you could do it. all i have is the arm sw and a push button for my purge.
hope this helps. if you still need more info ill pm you my #. charles helped me so much with mine. bhr is awesome.

Man I appreciate that. If you don't mind working on a AT, then sure I will take all the help I can get. I haven't received my parts in the mail yet but once I assemble all the parts I will let you know. The kit should be in route shortly and the other items will soon follow.

Press the gas, press the activation button, press the gas all the way to the floor. It only activates at WOT. Just mount the activation switch somewhere easy to get too. Mine is mounted where the factory seat warmer switches are along with the warmer button and bottle opener.

However, I have found the bottle warmer is not really needed, the bottle is usually well above 900PSI even with the warmer off if I have been driving for any decent amount of time. Then again I am in south Texas but the trunk is a pretty hot place and mine is mounted as so.

The bottle can't blow up (well if it got that hot instantly you would be dead anyway), it has a pressure release valve on the bottle and nitrous is not flammable anyway.

Do you have any tuning done? Are you running wet or dry and how big is your shot?

That pic is just a test fitment pic from before everything was hooked up, it is actually positioned the opposite way with the fitting pointed towards the ground

i thought that the bottle had to be angled because of the tube inside?

Yeah I am sure the way I have it mounted probably is not ideal but it has worked perfectly and I just wanted it centered and as low as possible in the trunk. Plus my father gave me the mount as a present and it was the easiest most secure way to mount it. I can get a couple of weeks fun out of it, I love it. In terms of full 1/4 mile runs, I would say you get get 10-12 easy.
