I have only read that methanol kits are used on FI cars to keep engines safer at the point where boost is introduced.

The only point in adding a meth kit on an NA car is if you can tune for it. I would recommend getting the AP and then you can slowly advance timing since the Meth will basically give you race gas. You could pick up some impressive gains- not sure if anyone has tried it yet

Yep, both of your are right. Tru5hot Meth/Alchy/ injection is really there as a means for charge cooling in a FI'd setup. one really shouldn't tune with it on in boost.
THink it as a safe guard.

Now If you intend to use it as charge cooling and a little extra power from the Meth, You would have to tune for it. however on the other hand NOS would be less hassle and more bang for the effort.

What were your ideas for the meth usage?

Okay heres the deal I have all the basics done to my car. The car has amazing handling now that im running 9.5 wide front and back but the power needs a little help the SC kit looks like its gonna be way up there in price and Nitrous seems dangerous so i heard meth kits when in use can make you pretty much have racing fuel bump up the octane level. For the money that seems worht it and its not that bad for my car.

The problem is stock timing is pretty aggressive as it is. You can't really advance it too much. Of course you can, but just how much is the question.

I agree nitrous will cost you only a hundred bucks more than a good water meth kit and much more bang for the buck. It's not dangerous unless you're Easy_E1 and blow intake manifolds LOL

And most of those destroyed manifolds were caused by "R&D".
"R&D" being, what is a safe RPM/Load to spray at and then let off the gas.

Anwser. Something higher than 4.5k rpm.
