Dyno'd my AT

I dyno'd my AT this past weekend at the grand opening of PRT Performance that opened in Lewisville, TX.

2005 4spd on 2nd engine that has 14k miles
Performance mods- RB Intake w/ Duct, RB Race Exhaust, RP Midpipe

Ignition is crapping out around 5k and higher so it didn't put down the numbers I hoped for but I know I can do better once that is replaced and have another run. It also had to deal with 100+ degree weather here in TX which I know isn't helping.

Pull was done in 3rd gear starting at 3500rpm

Mustang Dyno numbers
146rwhp and tq.

I'm not sure if I'm embedding this video right or not so let me know if you have trouble seeing it-

You almost hit my terrible 155RWHP, 118WTQ mark on a 1/2 dead 6port engine.

Video works, I love WWP.

How much torque did it put down?

Torque is roughly the same as HP, there was a spike on the dyno graph when I was changing gears to get up to speed that threw off the final numbers. The graph says my torque was 190 but I know that's not right.

Wow. You can really see the huge dump in Mazda's fueling values that happens right at 5500 RPM on the 4-port.
So much torque is lost because of that.

Probably.
It won't likely be a miraculous increase, but you can probably get back that 15 to 25 ft/lbs of torque you lose after 5500 RPM, which you will feel.

Don't feel too bad about the numbers. The lowest i've seen 137whp. Also nice sparks right after you start to decel.

Yes, get the AP from MickeyMouse, I mean MazdaManiac. It will make a differance thats noticiable.

PRT Performance in Lewisville?

JTtheDude,

where is PRT at in Lewisville? I live in Lewisville as well. I drive an 05 pearl white Rx8. I just lowered it. I'm usually driving around town on Round Grove and Valley Parkway.

I look at it this way...my RX8 is much much faster than the 1995 Integra I was driving. It looks 100 times better, my wife loves it and loves to cruise with me in it, my daughter thinks it has a turbo, it's a definite head-turner, it corners like it's on rails now that it's lowered.
If you're happy with it, who cares about the dyno numbers? It's much lighter than a lot of cars, so just because they have higher horsepower doesn't make them necessarily faster.

Enjoy the ride!

I used to live off of Round Grove in Lewisville (8 months or-so ago) I have a winning blue with a pretty loud exhaust.

146whp is already pretty good for a NA 4AT. a 3" exhaust might get you a couple more HP but you're likely already at the top.

The first time I dyno'd my 4AT it was at 138whp. After pulling the CAT and replacing with a BB resonated mid pipe I gained about 8 for a whopping 146whp myself.

It wasn't until I took drastic measures that things changed significantly.

Just wondering, is this common to all 4-Port AT's?

This was done during the shops grand opening so they had a deal $25 for 3 pulls. I'm not sure how much it would cost now during normal business hours.
