TX could i do this ? (fan behind oil cooler)

so with this 104 degree weather in my town for the last 30 days and state..i have had some overheating problems.. its only when im not moving to push the air through the oil cooler..im thinking oil cooler because it does not get any air pushed while im just sitting in stop and go traffic. but its fine when im rolling down the road.. that is when the temp starts to go down .. i have to turn off the ac. as i heard it puts the temp a little hotter..which makes sense. radiator full.no leaks. stock fans are working. i have done research on this sight and found multiple fan kits that i could have gotten a while back.. but they are not selling them.. like raceroots..and their is someone named

www.carboninmotion.com/

but i think they are in malaysia.. not sure about ordering from all the way over their.. but i found this fan kit on summitracing.com was wondering if yall thought it would fit behind the oil cooler. im trying to figure out what size i should get or if i should get this at all.

oh yeah its a 04 4port.2nd engine with 30,000 on the clock.
any input would be much appreciated. thanks

Easy. If you search you will find a lot of discussion as to what the benefits and drawbacks are to this. But if you are not monitoring oil temps you are getting ahead of yourself.

A properly operating RX-8 should not overheat in stop/go traffic even if it is 104

Furthermore, you are putting almost no heat into the oil at idle (until the coolant overheats first, anyway).

I guess the first question is, are both fans running at full strength?

Go go get it tested (the rad/ cooling system) , then let us know, before you go and waste money.

You need to stop driving your car, you may have already done irreparable damage. The factory gauge does not move until above 230F or so. At those coolant temps the factory coolant seals won't last long.

9K is right...if the guage has moved it is already getting too hot.....there is something wrong..likely with the fans or the thermostat....

If you can't troubleshoot it yourself get it someplace that can before your engine does the goodbye dance

Talking

I was having the same problem during this summer here in kansas so i upgrade the radiator for one in aluminum with 2 rows instead of the original that have 1, plus i was forced to use a transmission oil cooler since the radiator that i buy was for manual transmission so it doesn't have the lines for the transmission and for the fans for the oil cooler i buy a set of 2 on ebay and for the moment my temperatures levels doesn't pass 190 even on days with the temperatures hitting the 3 digits do some research for prices you will find the same product quality in other brands

I will go for the thermostat you can get one that open earlier since you live in texas you will be running hot temperatures all year around, but be ready to buy a new radiator since the radiator anyways the plastic on them use to break with the years that is what happen to me it start to deteriorate until one day the breather on the top of it came apart and it was really soft it was like cardboard so be ready and save money to buy one in the future
