2009 Rx8
Whats up guys. First time posting.
Currently leasing the '06 RX8.
Mazda wants to buy back to car to sell as pre-owned.
They mentioned about getting me into an '08 or '09.
Without the business side, I was just curious about opinions on switching to the MT for '09.
I love the car I have now but wonder about the power in the MT.
The thing that made me get the AT was living in NYC and not wanting to deal with the traffic but I feel like the car is a freak at AT.
Any thoughts on switching to the MT?
thanks

I think I am. I was driving the other day and some guy asked me if it was manual or automatic. I didn't want to say it but I did. The disappointment on his face when I said AT said it all.
I got not complaints on the AT though.
You have a MT?

This is a sports car...it's not meant for AT....Mazda added that for commercial purposes....Good opportunity to get a MT and go try it out on a track or advanced driving shool. You'll see why MT is the way to go

get the MT!!! It will be worth it! Feels like a totally different car between the 2. I never owned an AT 8, but got to drive one at work, and my conclusion is....MT FTW!!!

If you want comfort and convenience at the cost of a very small amount of power, get an AT. If you want to be able to drop the clutch, get a MT.
I live in So Cal but have driven plenty in NYC. Personally I would get an AT for the same reason I drive on in So Cal. The performance is fine and I don't have to dick with the clutch in stop and go traffic.

are you going to race it or you want your left leg get a lot bigger then your right leg? if you do get MT, if not and you just like the look and lazy? get the AT. I live in SF and i use to have 240sx MT i didnt like it because of the hills and traffic. And also i have a motorcycle that is MT of course. seriously think about what fits your driving style the best.

I like driving a MT in NYC. Heck, with a 9k rev limiter, each gear has such a range that you don't need to shift that much and can stay up near the power band for swerving quickly between pedestrians and other cars. The key to driving in NYC is to use pedestrians as pics, very similar to playing basketball.
