Not terribly, no. WI seems to be doing its job. In fact, I've had a few leaner instances that had no noticeable adverse effect. That said, the spike is a result of something I've been working on regarding the "lurch" during slower revs to redline I have posted about in the past and I will eventually work the spike back out.

So follow-up to my post above about my "lurch" issue. In the past I had posted about a weird thing my car does when doing a relatively slow wind-up to redline in 1'st or 2'nd gear. I found that there is a very fast lean blip that coincides with the behavior and I figured it was happening when the next injectors kicked in. I've been playing with the latency tables and recently, mysteriously, the "lurch" effect became very less pronounced, almost non-existent. Come to find out, the negative columns in the latency column headers can't be edited, pasted or multiplied/divided to yield a negative number. I had pasted in some values and not noticed that ATR changed the values to 0.00 in those column headers. I don't know if it is specific to '06, or maybe this is something everyone knows but me anyway, it seems to have fortuitously pushed me in the right direction, as far as getting that lurch ironed out. But once those column headers are non-negative I can't put them back so I have to go back to a file that has the negative numbers and work forward...

Lol, they weren't positive, they wound up being zero. Are you able to edit those values back to negative in ATR? I know you use ME these days...

Just tried it in atr and got same thing . In M/E it doesn't do it but there are plenty of similar things i've found over the years .

It pays to have a sense of humour when you are trying to make power with these engines!

This quote should be in the owners manual.

Had a setback with the display. Accidentally crossed the +8 and +5 rails and it didn't like that I got a replacement which showed up yesterday, but the wife wants to decorate for the holidays so I had to vacate the dining room and move down to my office. I've got this old LED flat screen that has a blown backlight but works for my stuff, so it was good to get stuff moved.

While I was waiting for the replacement display I spent time boning up on C++ and Atmel stuff. I like their IDE and I ordered an AVR Xplained mini to play with. The display is a fun project but I keep going off on tangents as this world of microcontrollers opens up to me. Definitely cheaper and cleaner than car parts! Well, except the Saleae logic analyzer was as much as a GoodBox... I am a n3rd...

My favorite hood. Well a real RE one anyway. Should drop temps pretty good. Now all you need is more stickers. I would suggest a large, " Cash me ousside how bout dah" on the rear window.

Thumbs up

As someone who has just started looking into the RX8 and reading though some of these threads. All I can say is "Overwhelming" information overload with lots of technical stuff I don't even begin to understand but I can sure appreciate that many of you guys do and I relate it to a pro athlete.

You know what you are doing and work towards being the best at it.

The difference is they get paid and you guys are paying. (for parts, dyno time etc.) LOL
