poor some oil down the intake manifold. I would say to use the 2 nipples on the lower manifold but that's what you blocked off right? that should help bring compression up.
a pull start or push start could help possibly
You need to push start it dude, then once you get it started, drive it for a while. Unfortunately we have had to do this on a couple of local home builds. Which is why I would never rebuild mine. Having participated in a few builds, I can say that it is much more complicated than it appears. My Pineapple build fried up on the first crank
But don't fret, both of Shadycrews builds took a while before they would start and run without stalling but they all ended up being fine (well expect the RA seals experiment engine that lasted a few days) . He came into town to get his car from my house and rebuilt his engine and drove it back to PA without any issues. It just took some push starting to get the seals sealing.
I'm definitely smelling some gas now. I wonder if I used too much Vaseline putting it together and it just needs to get cleaned out... I'm hopefully borrowing a compression tester tomorrow...

I actually just tried some in the spark plugs holes but still no start. I didn't block off those LIM nipples nipples, I use them for BOV and now water injection controller. I blocked off the jet air nipples.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. My Mazda reman fired up right away as well. Fazda said it took him a few days to get his rebuild started. So all this about home rebuilds being finicky is reassuring. I live on a hill so if I pull it out and don't get is started I'll never get it back in the garage lol so I'm hoping to get my hands on a compression tester tomorrow to at lest rule that out...
Yeah my driveway is long incline and it sucks to push a car up. On the last one, DC was getting frustrated so I gave it a crack and drove it around a long time. It was tricky keeping it running when you let off throttle but after a day or two of doing this, it would start on it's own and then from there it was fine.
Glad to hear you got it back together! You may want to try putting a couple of tablespoons of ATF in each service port nipple on the lower intake, it will work better than engine oil. Also are you 100% sure on the fuel injector wiring, if these are incorrect it can create starting issues especially on a fresh rebuild.

Thx Scott! I just quadruple checked my injector wiring against the photos I took before tearing it apart and they match. I don't think it injector wiring. I think it may be flooded. I wasn't smelling gas before but I think my sniffer is shot from all the fumes lately lol. While checking the injectors right now I pulled the fuel line from the damper and some squirted out and I barely smelled it.
If you don't have any error codes, try to disconnect what you have added to the electric circuit and see how it goes from there, maybe there is an issue with the earth connection somewhere preventing ignition from occurring....

I've pulled the plugs and fuel pump fuse, cranked a bunch, then put the plugs and fuse back in. Cranked a bunch, no luck pulled plugs again and they are clean and dry. I'm still suspecting a fueling issue. I know there is fuel pressure and fuel all the way to the damper. I'm just not sure how to check the injector circuits. I can't find any blown fuses.
Thx 9K! Mine matches that graphic. I'm just wondering if they are actually firing. Spark plugs are completely dry after cranking on it a bunch. I'm headed to pick up a compression tester right now.
Well I think my fuel might be fine because I took out the leading plugs and fuel pump fuse to air it out prior to compression test. I left the trailing plugs in and connect. I cranked it over and got a loud bang out the leading holes lol so it must be getting fuel. So... compression test results: looks like I botched my rebuild
