Renesis engine versus 13B
#26
I've been doing more research and talking with my tech. who tuned my Rx8.. Checking prices for the renesis and the 13B-REW.. its still is cheaper to buy, build ,tune, repair and maintain a 13B-REW versus a Renesis motor.. Obviously because parts are so much more available for the 13B than the Renesis... Alot of info I've been receiving is leaning toward a Renesis being a stronger motor but there is 12plus years with R&D on the 13B and I don't have that much patience to wait...
I will call Scott by wed, I hope he has some very ,very, very, good news for me... I thank all you guys for all the help ..

It's easy to say that a few Renesis motors have blown up regardless of the ecu's running them and then claim that the engine isn't strong as a result. Explain then why so many RX-7 people blow up their engines? I've seen people with forced induction on a 13B blow them up at 250 hp before and I've seen Ari make 620 rwhp on a stock remanufactured block. The Renesis is really no different in this regards. It's not a weaker engine than the 13B and all evidence actually says otherwise when you really get down to the little stuff. It's got plenty of performance capability in it. Of course you will always have the people who will throw out the card that if the engine had more in it we'd have seen it by now. this attitude really cracks me up! The engine is plenty strong and plenty capable in the right hands.
Indeed it can. The Mazda Wankel engine from the 626 rx7 and even the rx8, all of the engines are built the same, with different imperfections; though, all those engines from those vehicles can push up to their maximum capability.
I know of this one person, who is a Mazda fanatic, and he has all his cars running high power.
But it all depends if you have the motivation to fiddle with the engine or engine(s) until you find the sweet point.
It just depends on the person, and how much time they are willing to put into the car.

Release the twins.
i'm really focus'd on my twin sequential turbo FC, my vq35de fiero, and my 13b PPort vert. until a cheap rx8 find it's way to me, or i sell/complete one of my projects i'll go back to fast rx8. i picked up a vk45de and im eager to slide that into an rx8 putting off force'd induction rx8 stuff for a while.
i do think to get a renesis to 500-600 hp that will stay together for 40-50k miles you're gonna have to pull the heat off the side seals and put it back in the apex. basicly turning the renesis back into a 13b.. just start there lol..
