Can someone explain what the downside of not using the oil restrictor pill on a greddy turbo is? Also if the turbo has an upgraded compressor wheel and a machined housing does the oil restrictor pill become necessary? Will not having the restrictor cause premature seal failure?

OK - i'll expand a little . The upgrade does not address the oil pressure /flow issue to the plain bearings and the seals are similar if not identical so - you still need a restrictor .
