very interesting swap, care to share any more details?
What made you pick the 1jz?
What kind of horsepower goals do you have?
Cost?
etc.

any build pics?

Congrats on a finished swap though. Not too many ever seem to get done that are non-rotary

Amen.

It is great to actually see someone who did it. Properly built you can make 400-450Hp reliably.

Very nice....Are you using a W-58 transmission? could probably get 500-600 hp out of that motor. 2JZ FTW!! Use a 67mm turbo, it works great for a daily driver IMO.

1JZ is capable of 700HP. And actually in some ways it is better than the 2JZ. With a good tune and a proper build, 400WHP is easy.

depends what your power goals are...if he wants over 400whp+ he will need to get a new manifold and turbo.

Quite possibly the worst fitting body parts ever.

Nice, looks like they are using the 1jz ECU for the engine and RX8 ECU for everything else. A stock 1JZ can still put down about 100WHP more than a stock Renesis and way more torque.

I've also got a finished 1jz rx8, and I'm just trying to get the gauges to work. Does anyone have the schematic or a link for piggybacking the rx8 ecu to the 1jz ecu?

The fact that there are hidden details of reverse-engineering the RX8 instrument cluster to run off a non Mazda PCM makes my mouth water. (I am assuming it is an elegant, information-driven hack and not a cut and replace.)

Incredible thread. Honestly think it is unique in the history of rx8club. I cannot recall anyone popping on here with a brief announcement of a major swap and posting pictures of the finished product.
