Mazdatrix Supercharger kit

Not much info one the web, but I saw their setup at Sevenstock 10.

This is what I remember from talking to the guys.

Developed in New Zealand, $8k for the complete kit, including management.
FMIC, Centrifugal type SC/Procharger, bolt on (no lift required). It uses the Powermod ECU, and all stock creature comforts are retained, like DSC, cruise, AC etc... No CELs.
They were claiming over 300rwhp, but I am not sure which stage that was. Supposedly has the SC whine everyone loves, but they didn't fire it up. They did at some point though, i just wasn't there. Maybe someone who was could chime in.

The kit comes with a battery relocation kit for the trunk, but their setup just had one of those small batteries crammed where the stock intake used to be (see pic). They used a custom fabbed bracket for that.

Here's a pic I took:

Procharger is the same centrifugal compressor that the Rotormaster kit uses, and Rotormaster also uses the Powermod ECU (which I like - it is the evolution of the TSI unit that was discussed on this forum as the Ric Shaw unit).

It is a good quality unit, with CNC bracketry and such. Also claming 300 HP.

I've watched 2 of these cars at the track. They made good power. But a centrifugal doesn't whine. It is a turbo driven by a belt. All bias aside, it is more of a vacuum cleaner noise. If there is any whine, it is from the gearset that steps up the RPM to the impeller.

Cheers,
Hymee.

That does make more sense. As I understand, the twinscrews whine because of the release of compressed pockets of air, as each chamber formed by the lobes of the screws rotates to the air outlet.
I was skeptical myself, but since I didn't get to hear it I posted it since that's what they said. I can see the gearing creating some high frequency noise though.

This kit has been discussed a some length in the past (just not as the Madatrix kit)
search DNA or Rotormaster . Excellent kit for the track - perhaps not the greatest for street use because of the lack of low down torque .
I have the Powermod (N/A use only) & its been great .

OH and as much as I'd like to say it was developed in NZ - It wasn't . Those Aussies beat us again - grrrrr

I was looking through my SSX pictures, and on my pics of this kit, I did notice the reference to DNA Motorsport here in Australia.

Cheers,
Hymee.

of all the kits I've seen for the 8 - Turbo or SC , this one is the best one I've seen for the bling factor .
It's hard to make a kit for the 8 that does not look like a bunch of spaggetti thrown in there .

Installation looks like a breeze ....

Seems to be very easy, there are some other threads on here talking about the pro's and con's of the kit. My question is, does anyone have this kit installed?

Anyone with this? I doubt it, I don't think too many people are willing to dish out $8K for this kit. I guess you would save the install price since it looks like just about anyone with a set of wreches can do. I like this kit because of the simplicity but it's a rip off, Bring down the price!

I agree that stage 1 is a rip off. $7500 for the c-2 supercharger, intercooler, powermode, tubing and hardware. The funy thing is that they are only asking $500 more for the stage 2 which adds the headers and injectors and of course a bigger pulley.

Personaly I would like to see the numbers a dyno chart with 14-16 PSI. The procharger set up runs much cooler then any turbo and turbo's are running 12 PSI right? So 14-16 should be no problem.

Not only would the max power be great but I think the power would start a lot earlier, therefore eliminate the one downside I see which has been the low numbers below 4K RPM.

$8K might be a little high but if it reliable and is as fun to drie as I have heard, then it would be worth every penney.

ok well look at the american shops....?? im not sure what your getting at. I thought you were refering just to SC's and true this may be better than the petit. but then you metioned greddy. The american turbo setups put down much more power than the DNA/Mazdatrix, and have proved to be just as reliable. please visit the dyno compilation sticky and check out PTP, Mazsport, and SFR. Your saying your opinion has nothing to do with you being an aussie. Logic says different.
