:D Back and kicking.
Yeah, I parked the car in the winter of 2013 and took it apart as it needed some TLC.
Once apart I was like ****. It needed a lot.
2014 was a **** year and I never got back to it until 2015.
So it sat a whole year. Should be on the road soon I hope!

Team this is my current map. I did all the 1's just as a test to see if I could get it to stop smoking. My next step is to pull my turbo oil supply. And let it idle for a few min to see if it's a leaking turbo oil seal.

Thank you sir, It's nice to see you back around. It's been a crazy long work in progress. I'm starting to get pissed that it's one thing after another. I have not had any real time driving it since I've started the turbo build.

well, it looks like it's definately the turbo. I just puled my supply line and let it idle from cold(90F) to 180. and no smoke at all.

Pull a vacuum on your oil reservoir and you'll never have that problem again.

good idea, do you think just running the overfill nozzle to the lim would do the trick? Like the mazda vacuum line revision had done.

Yeah, the LIM will work fine. You need a check valve in the line or the oil reservoir will see boost pressure (explosion or fire bad) but it will keep your oil dry just like the Mazda mod. I also have a catch can to keep the check valve from getting fouled with oil nastyness.

Do you have a pic of your oil drain setup?

not a real good one. they do appear in my turbo pics. it's a 3/4" copper tube. that comes down from the turbo, bends about 45 deg around the manifold then slops down and makes a large bend into the oil pan drain.

If it has a nice slope down that is probably not the problem. Although our setups are not ideal. That is a good idea on the vacuum setup, worth a try. Hopefully the turbo is not leaking, been there, done that.

I liked the idea of making it drain into the front cover but that would be a slope up.

I also run my oil just above the low mark on the dip stick.

Didn't you have some elaborate oil pressure control system to the turbo ? Sounds like it didn't do the job !

The sohn reservoir ... are you sure that's a good idea ? How does that help with oil blowing past turbo seals ?

Yeah I do. I also have a pressure sensor on the turbo line. It hasn't seen more then 76 PSI. and all of a sudden at 25 PSI idle it's smoking like crazy. Unless the sensor is bad then I don't think it's an overpressure issue. The guy who rebuilt it at Comp turbo said the turbo is "good for at least 100 PSI with a -3 Supply line".

Maybe I didn't give it enough oil? but it maintains 25 PSI at idle and runs at 45-55PSI

Either that or the turbo was faulty ............

yeah, I was thinking that also. I have to pull it again and see where it's leaking at. Then call them. I'm pretty sure it will be the hot side.

I've been working a lot lately and my kitchen table is in the garage getting refinished. So I haven't even looked at it. But the table is almost done so it will happen soon. Hopefully before I work my first hitch in saudi.

Well my turbo was "upgraded" by Comp (paid Turdblown because Elliot said they were doing the work and they just shipped it to Comp who didn't even do everything Elliot said they would) and it failed in a year. Comp has a pretty good rep but who knows. Majestic rebuilt it this time and stated that it looked like oil pressure was definitely an issue so I didn't really blame Comp but I dunno only time will tell.

Little update got back from saudi fine and got the turbo rebuilt by majestic. I put it in today. And have a small exhaust leak. So I have a little work tomorrow. I've built another box for the water, out of steel so I can weld my fittings on and grantee no leaks. That will be going in shortly but it's back b to saudi once my visa comes through.

Logalinipoo's Custom turbo build.

I'll have intercooler, radiator, water box in line. The water box is cooled by the air conditioner to 40f. This bypasses the box so it can cool down. It's a 3 gallon box and a 10 gpm pump so with a little flow loss in the system I figure I'll have 20-30sec of 40deg water to push through inter cooler. For an extra level of power and safety. My best guess is it'll refresh in about 2 min. In general it'll be cold anytime I smash the gas in normal driving. I'm toying with the idea of using the water box for my water meth injection also. That way it's also colder. But that will mean running water meth for my intercooler system.

I like it instead of antifreeze, but wonder if heat transfer is reduced, if I'll cook out ty he meth, and the danger of it if the meth cooks out.

And later maybe run a fuel chiller on the same system.

I always wondered if that was something people did, and how effective it was.

It should be pretty effective, for the limited time it is cold. The actual unit in out cars is only about 1.5 tons so it's limited on how much it can cool.

What do yall think about running water/meth through my intercooler system?
