I need to get supercharged - best buy?

Hi fellow rotary enthusiasts:

I've been an owner of an RX-8 since '04. After driving some cars with more torque, I think that's exactly what I'm after. So cost-no-object, what supercharger would you go with? I don't want a DIY thing, I'd like a nice a fully-thought-out kit like what Flyin' Miata does with their kits. And proven dyno results. I also want to maintain as much of the stock ECU function as possible (ie. I'd like to retain DSC/TCS if possible).

So requirements:
-cost not really an issue
-want to see good torque under 6k
-want the car to be very 'drivable'
-needs to be very reliable

Suggestions? Or should I just give up my rotary dreams and get something with an LS1?

for a guy with 605 posts over 7 years I would have thought you'd know the answer to this.
There are not very many supercharger kits available for our cars.

Time to do a few searches on the Pettit Supercharger and make up your mind if that kit is what's right for you.
Word of caution: there was talk a while back of the kit being discontinued (ie; no NEW units being made),not sure if that's still the case but it's worth looking into.

As far as tuning, with devices such as the Cobb AP, you're able to retain most of the OE functions such as DSC, abs, etc

I used to be very active on this forum when I was racing my RX-8; since an injury I am no longer able to race and haven't been active on the forum. I thought there might have been some developments since I last checked in. Guess not.

Pettit are working on a revised kit. There are some Hymee kits floating around and Hymee may have some available as well however, it is worth waiting for Danny of Automotive Plus to fix all the bugs before installation.

There is a new kit being finished, also in Australia. Uses Adaptronic. Don't remember the name, but there is a thread on it...

Trackmac is still in development. DNA motorsport released a similar kit in 2005 you can contact them to see if it is still available http://www.dnamotorsport.com/ProChar...8_Kit/RX-8.htm

I'm (very) far from an expert here, but if you want torque, turbo seems to be the best. See sticky, Highest Horsepower dynos for SC Turbo. You can see that Brettus' greddy has 150Hp@3500RPM, while supercharger "only" has 100Hp.
