Greddy help in hawaii

So I'm new to the forum and the rx-8 and realize I seriously need help. I just purchased a 2004 with the greddy turbo kit on it. However I know very little about turbos. I have read a few threads addressing the issues I am having but still it seems like they are speaking another language. I am having what seems like some typical tuning issues with my car and desperately need help before I lose my engine. If there is anyone in Hawaii that has the greddy or knows about them please let me know.

Who did you buy it from?

What are the symptoms?

I don't know how it is tuned. It is running through the e manage from greddy. It has lurching and bogging down during moderate acceleration around 4-5k rpm. It seems like all it wants to do is run full throttle all the time. Also the acceleration is not consistent. Sometimes it takes off like a rocket and sometimes it seems slow. I would have thought it was just tuning issues but from what I read it's a problem with the greddy kit itself. All my problems seem to have happened to others here. Btw I'm on schofield. Any help is appreciated

Maniac. You seem to know the most about all this so far that I have read. What about the other fixes you describe in other posts?

with the AP, the only MM fix you need is the different location for wastegate input.

umm you kinda cant...

Fix #1 is the pump problem and since the AP doesnt mess with it there is no need to cut the wire; Fix #3 also deals with the E-Manage harness, which obviously the AP does not have...

a few more things I would make sure to do:

1. be sure to have your maf in the appropriate size tube
2. make sure the maf gets good readings by using a screen in the intake tubing
3. use a good BOV, and make sure you recirculate it
4. make sure jet air is either hooked up post turbo or if you go pre turbo, install a check valve in the hose.

... there are more to double check but this is a good start

^ +1... switch to the AP and ditch that E-Manage. I went with the AP from the get go and an MM tune and I really have nothing bad to say about the performance of my system

Secondly... Did you not test drive the car before you bought it?

I agree... switch to ap, but if, for some odd reason he cant, then at the very least he needs to do the fixes
