Broke my first part after being turbo'd

Well I was coming back from lunch today and stomped on it in 2nd gear and all of a sudden I got a strange vibration from the shifter. Now I gave some gas in 3rd and the shifter comes up about 2 inches. At idle it has a nasty vibration/rattle. I guess it wont be long for the trans to go again. People with turbos watch out here comes the problems from weak PARTS

I agree, could easily be a mount or bracket if the tranny is not making any noise at idle.

odd - the PPF on the 8 looks 'beefier' than that of the MX5 - I've never heard of a PPF failure on an MX5.

I'm VERY happy for you - it seems no moving (read: expensive) parts are trashed.

Weird. Mine doesn't even looked stressed. Wheel hop?

BTW - spoke to Benny at Greddy and Scott at Mazsport yesterday. Scott is helping some Florida forum members with their problems.

Benny said the second dongle is to change the water-temp circuit, not the AFM. That isn't what I expected, but it is understandable in seeing how it affects some vehicles - the old "resistor" trick for the water temp circuit. It didn't work on the ODB-II Miatas and it won't work on the RX-8.

I got my laptop back from Dell today (the display completely crapped after we were done last week) so I'm up for more tuning on Sunday if you have time.

well I got it all apart and really dont see anything cracked. It is very strange the trans is bouncing all over the place and I have looked over everything that "could be the problem. I guess I will keep looking. As it stands now I dont know what the f*&! is going on.

Keep ya posted

I looked at:
Motor Mounts,Diff Mounts, Subframe bolts, aint nuttin turning up. It is funny because my 3rd gen acted in the same manner and the PPF was split down the middle.

I don't know much about these and have never seen one. But I know there is a motor mount that you remove and replace for the instalation. You might give that a good looking since it is something you disterbed. It also now gets hotter then it was designed for. Check carfully if it is cracked and resettled into it's former home so you can'rt see do to the casting finish.

Wheel hop can completely destroy your transmission, differential and/or drive shafts.
It is a really bad thing and should be avoided at all costs.

It is to your suspension like pre-ignition/detonation is to your engine.
