blew coil pack
installed GReddy ignition controller - melted a coil pack.
GReddy was thoroughly unhelpful - couldn't provide wiring diagrams or instructions, couldn't help out after it was installed, they're pretty much idiots. They said they've never put one on an RX-8, but did have the coil pack melting issue running the e-manage on at least one other RX-8.
My shop is replacing the pack and taking out the ignition harness.

Oh. You mean the ignition harness for the E-Manage.
Yeah, you can't use the igntion harness without having a signal conditioner or it will cause the coils to idle at .3 vots or so which will burn them quickly.
This has been discussed and addressed already.
The most simple way to do this is with silicon rectifier diodes on each of the ignition output lines.

Their entire product support in this country consists of two guys in an office in Cali.
They just aren't meant to be an end-user support system.
They set up their operation to support "Authorized Dealers" and nothing more.
Technically, if you buy and install their products youself, you are gray-market and aren't entitled to product support.

Guess you missed that thread. :p Another way for the site to stay free is what the idea is, but it does get annoying. You can just download the firefox script blocker and it disables them, and then no more greenness
