**Greddy Turbo Kit Owners - ALERT **

We just got off the phone with Greddy, and they told us that they had a large early batch of these kits that went out with bad software. Apparently the units that went to Mazda Trix & I got mine at www.city-speed.com. If you are sensing a momentary bog before boost hits, or if you feel some detonation at around 4000 rpm (we did on the dyno, but not on the street when we drove it) you probably have faulty software. You may want to give them a call. You will be required to pull the units, send it to Greddy, and have them re-flash the E manage units. Or be ready to get a new engine.

just talked to GReddy

here is what to look for:

open the box and take out the board.
there are seven "jumpers" or connectors. they should sequence as follows:

jumpers 1 and 2 should connect sites #1 and #2

jumper 3 should connect sites # 2 and #3

jumper 4 should have only one pin connected ("open")

numbers 5, 6, 7 should all connect sites #1 and #2

benny is who i talked to at GReddy and he was helpful. mine is still being shipped from rotary extreme and he said there were only three that were wrong and he was 99.9% sure they all went to Mazda Trix. I told him i want to be 100% sure since it is my precious rotary engine...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!
pm me if you need the phone #

So if all the jumpers are in the right place then our emanage "should" be good?

They told me mine was a software issue. i have to pull the unit & send it back. Has nothing to do with the jumpers (my luck - all bad), otherwise I would have loved to have done that.

Does Greddy have a SN# range that are suspect? Does the map Jon posted have the issue, too?

Correct. I was hoping for maybe the E Manage software, but since it is password protected there is no reason as we can't adjust the timing or A/F.

Also said that if the re-flash does not work I will have to drive it to their HQ. Luckily Irvine isn't that far away from me. .

This is interesting. I'll have to look at my setup (which I programmed, not Greddy) and see where I put the jumpers.
I'm in Dallas at the moment, so I can't comment until the weekend.

Very interesting, why would Greddy enable VTec mode?
Then again, the only jumpers that are significant are JP1,2,5,6

Quote:
re: http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/EmanageFAQ.txt
JP3 airflow/VTEC output select
1-2 2nd airflow meter
2-3 VTEC

JP4 airflow/VTEC input select
1-2 VTEC
2-3 2nd airflow meter

JP7 VTEC
1-2 Non-VTEC
Jumper off - VTEC
This must be their default setting and these jumpers (3,4,7) would not affect the non-vtec application anyway and the RX8 has no 2nd Airflow meter. Though, I would set these jumper JP3,4,7 to 1-2 to enable the 2nd airflow input and wire it to the WO2 metter for A/F logging and connect the Greddy MAP Sensor to enable tunning via boost sensor instead of the stock MAF. hint hint

found em, my jp 1 is (1/2), jp 2 is (1/2), Jp 3 is (2/3), Jp 4 is (Open), Jp 5 is (Open), Jp 6 is (Open) and Jp 7 is (1/2). Hmmm looks like mine is not following the above rules. Any idea if all greddy is going to do is go in there and connect 5 6 and 7? If so i'll jsut do it an save myself the headache. I think we shoudl demand a free set of software and cable to tune this thing if they can't do it themselves.
any idea what the rotary switches do on the side? Originally i thought i was looking for those, no need to remove the sticker to see them, just remove the panel the sticker is stuck on....doh.

Very good information to have, but I hate it for you guies dealing with it... I hope greddy sorts out these problems.... I did order mine about a week ago from INTENSE MOTORSPORTS and I had a 3 weeks wait on it... I wondering also if mine would be screwed also.. Hopefully not espeaiclly since I had to wait for it cause it was on backorder...... But if any gets any SN#s for the units that are messed up.... please let us all know... thanks
