XCarLink iPod Integration with iPhone5

I have read many reviews people on the forum that this is a good product.
My only question is will the integration work with the iPhone5. The only reason I am unsure is because it isn't listed on the website and it has a different plug compared to the iphone4.
Do you guys think an adapter plug would work to make the plug from an iphone4 to iphone5?
Thanks for any help, sorry if this is confusing.

i have it on my car and it works great! however, i have an Iphone 4...ur best bet is to take the adapter and find someone in the area that could let u plug it in and check it out...my assumption is that the adapter makes the iphone5 work with anything that has that old connector but again, just an assumption

Thanks. My assumption was also that it would work the same and that the adapter would just change the plug so it would work with the iphone5

some helpful advice....when u pull out the head unit be careful to not scratch the face of the radio against ur shifter, since u take the **** off to get the radio off, the only thing there will be a nasty screw waiting to scratch ur radio face plate if ur not careful....i would probably cover it or tape it up with something soft

Did you have different speakers, amps, or subs with your setup? Or all stock? If stock, did you have the Bose system?

Will likely work fine. I install "iSimple" iPod integration setups in vehicles with OEM headunits often and they haven't had a problem when using the lightening adapter and an iPhone 5. Also haven't had a problem with USB inputs on aftermarket headunits, using the lightening adapter/iPhone 5. Seems the adapter does indeed make it compatible with anything an iPhone 4 worked with.

Thanks to the input. The reassurance is helpful. The integration isn't here yet but I will be sure to update everybody so we know for sure

Do you listen to your music loud at all? Does your ipod/iphone sound fuzzy through your speakers when yo uplay the music loud or is everything clear and sound good?

Nah i dont have the blue tooth adapter, but im sure if it works as well as the ipod then it should be fine...yeah ive definitely blasted my music loud and it sounds pretty crisp, no fuzz or nothing like that, since it plugs directly into ur stereo there should be no problems. Its not like those cigarette lighter adapters

Ok guys I have the whole kit routed and everything. When I try it with my iphone5 and the adapter it will not play the music. However, when I get rid of the adapter plug and try my brothers iPod it plays perfectly. Therefore, an adapter plug does not seem to work with it. I don't understand why it won't work but it is definitely the issue here.

Fudge. That sucks bro. Strange because I've installed many of the "iSimple" factory/ipod integration systems and haven't run into an issue with the 5 yet.

Maybe you have to put your phone in ipod mode? Can you even do that? I've heard something like that about them before.... I've never personally owned an iPhone. lol

EDIT: Doubt it matters, but this is the adapter my customers use.

The adapters have is not like that do that could be the issue. Mine is actually a chord and not a block. And this is my first iPhone and I've never heard of any settings you have to change

While helping another member, I stumbled across this chart for Pioneer headunit's AppRadio compatibility. Though the chart specifically doesn't mean anything for this thread, it does show a difference in functionality between the iPhone 5 with the Lightening to 30-pin adapter and Lightening to USB cable included with the phone. So it would appear that all adapters/cables were not created equal for some reason. In the case of the Pioneer, the 30-pin adapter block had increased compatibility. Seems that in mimics an iPhone4/4S better? Interesting stuff...

It's worth a try. Hop on over to Best Buy and buy the adapter block pictured above. If it doesn't work for your application, walk back in and return it.

Well guys I found an old iPod buried that is working just fine so I have solved the problem. I do want to show you guys how I routed the wire for the adapter. I didn't route it the traditional way through the cup holder and have wires dangling around. I actually went around the cup holder and under the aux output. See pictures.
