I have tried the search button but found nothing on this. so hear it go's
How does a Stock RX-8 CD player sound using line out converters hooked to amps
Would i hear the difference from a aftermarket deck like pioneer DEH-P980BT.
The reason i ask is i am narrowed down to 2 options using the stock deck (keeping it looking stock is a plus) or using the radio mount sold on EBay (Don't care for the look a lot though)
If I use the Stock deck I will use a Audio Control DQL-8 for line out converter becouse it has a built in EQ.
If i use the ebay kit i will use a pioneer DEH-P980BT cd deck
Thanks
BadBoy

Gonna bump this because I have pretty much the same question. I have the center channel speaker, so I can't even use the Ebay kit. It's either use the stock headunit or aftermarket DVD unit w/LCD via custom dash job. <---- which would probably be $300+ by a local "pro"....
Somewhere there is a post that shows the Bose head unit to have a fairly flat, full range output which is good when adding aftermarket amps. If there is any quality difference, I doubt anyone would be able to tell w/out test equipment. There is definitely a few plusses for leaving the dash stock and beware of any "pro" that will try to perform install for $300. The current head unit has to be moved, but remain in the system for climate control and they probably have not performed this before. I think the kit by itself (if you can get it to work properly) is about $500, not including labor. If they are going to try to make a kit for $300, they can probably sell thousands of them here.
If you want, Audiocontrol, Fosgate, JL, Alpine (and probably a few others) offer channel summing to create full range outputs from several inputs. I feel that if you have the Bose, this should not be needed for the average user. It is also a constant debate on if you need a line driver or not when using quality amps. If you have the non Bose, I would definitely recommend a quality LOC/Line Driver.
As far as the center speaker, (if you are changing all of your amps, speakers etc.) usless you are going w/ 5.1, you will probably not be using it anyway. It isn't easy getting a center channel to sound right w/out a separate amp and/or processor.
I personally plan on keeping the head unit stock until a resonably priced, 100% operational dash kit is offered.

Thanks I decided to go with the Rockford 3Sixty.2 I saw a demo and it looked pretty good. The shop where i going to install it from tunes it with an RTA so it sounds its' best.

Thanks for your reply, but why is this? What exactly do you mean by this? How would the stock headunit have anything to do with how the climate controls work?
I used line out off rear speaker wires with PPI PCX480 4x80 watt amp. replaced rear speakers with MB Quart 6x9 components, replaced front with blaupunkt 6x9 overdrives. the rear is powered by the PPI amp and a JL Audio 10"W3 Bridged on the rear 2 channels of the PPI. The front Blaupunkts are powered by the Bose Amps that are in the front doors. It sounds better than the Pioneer head unit I have in a Millenia with a PPI PCX440 amp 4x40 watt.

The stock head unit and climate control system are built together on the same circuit card(s). Don't know why, but I assume it had something to do with saving $$.
