Sirius Stilleto car adapter?

Anyone else have one of these and hooked it up to the car? My dad purchased one for me, and I'm only using the MP3 part, screw the satellite radio crap. But has anyone hooked this up to there car? I've been looking all over for a car adapter and can't find anything.

mazdaparts.com sells a PIE adapter, that should solve your problem.

Dude, your dad bought you a $350.00 portable sattelite unit for you and you are using it as an MP3 player? Retard.

They make a car kit for $69.99 and it is quite nice but I would suggest getting the auxmod for best sound quality. I just hooked this up for my boss in his S500 and it is sweet. He bought me an S50 and I like it much better than my old JVC unit. I was not interested in being able to walk around and listen to sattelite so the S50 is great.

Where can I get one of these auxmods?

My wife gave me a Sat Radio for our 10th Anniversary...so I selected Sirius (cause it has NCAA BB & NHL Hockey casts).
Selected the Sportster "R" model.....for the replay and memory options. Mounted it on the left side of dash w/suction to window.
Works Great!....also got a desk stand so I can take the unit from the RX8 to my office then back to the 8 every day.
Reception is terrific!

Stiletto Radio

Which is better, the Mazdaparts PIE/Firmware upgrade or the Auxmod by Slyfex?
I'm thinking of the AuxMod advanced when its available.
Do you need the latest firmware upgrade for the AuxMod to work?
I want to be able to listen to satelite radio and MP3 player feature.
I already purchased the car kit and am waiting for my car to come out of storage to install.
I've been researching this alot and am more confussed now then ever.

just make it easy and get the AuxMod Basic.. that's what i have on my S50 - it sounds awesome and it's too easy to mess up. just clip in the chip in your headunit and push the "tape " button to listen to it.. couldn't get any easier.

I can't control the sirius with the steering wheel but the volume still works (of course) and the sirius doesn't display on the dash, but thats what the sirius fancy color lcd screen is for.. it's cheap simple and easy.. you can't miss

and as for the latest firmware.. as long as you don't have one of the early 04's you should be fine (I'm not exactly sure when they upgraded the firmware coming on the car but I know it was a long time ago)

Firmware Upgrade

I've got the early firmware. How do I upgrade other than sending the unit to Mazdaparts?

Stiletto Heating up

I haven't used it for long periods of time, but so far its fine.
I'm waiting to install it in my car. Then I'll use it for longer periods.
How bad was the heating issue?

Its bad if you leave the screen on for a long period of time which I'm guessing you will in a car.
I tried using it as a portable player but its a) pretty bulky/heavy b) singes your arm after a while since it gets so hot.

Sirius hardware is kinda flaky, they get most stuff made from DEI and its not exactly built to like apple or sony standards. XM at least has decent manufaturers. Since I've used both the Stilletto and the Inno, I think the Inno wins hands down. Its smaller and the build quality is MUCH better. The Stilletto does have a cool interface and tivo like radio recordings but i think its bad outweighs it good.

You might have a different experience tho. Good luck!
