SIRIUS Kit, Any News

Hey all,

There was some talk a few weeks ago about whether or not the SIRIUS Kit would work on 2004 8's without the SAT button, but has anyone found out anything for sure? Will the kit work without having the SAT button? Who has tried it?

The kit for the 05 is on hold for now..I'm gonna fit the Trib kit to the Rx-8 next week.

As far as I know you need the "SAT" button to make it plug and play.

Acording to what i have found so far you need a HU with the sat button. My research into the subject so far has shown there to be two HU for the 8. An A unit and a B unit. The obvious diffrence being the sat button. From what i have found the one with the sat button is not in production yet for dealers to order (only for asembly line) and a part# has yet to be generated. In addition i have found that there is a diffrent part # listed for the sirius unit if it is factory install or dealer install. So basicaly if you have no sat button you need a new HU and there is no part listed for it yet.

I emailed Mazda USA last week asking the same question. I was told the Sirius kit will NOT work with the 04's, the SAT button is needed.

I want the factory OEM HU and Sat radio, I wonder how much an '05 HU costs?
