Is it possible to tuck the seat cover under the rotor hole in the seat to keep the alum tone visible?

Not sure I understand your question. The Mazda OEM seat covers leave the hole open—the fabric of the cover goes thru the hole and attaches on the back of the seat with velcro, so the black fabric of the cover covers up the plastic rotor piece (see photo). Since the seat covers are pulled down from the top of the seat, there's no way to have them go only part way up the seat to leave the plastic rotor inserts visible.

What about taking the plastic insert out then put on the seat cover and reinstall it.

Gee, I guess that might work—though there's a chance the plastic insert fits so tightly that you won't be able to wedge it in with the seat cover under it. I don't know. Of course, it would also take longer to put on or take off the covers. But if you plan on leaving 'em on long-term, maybe it's worth a try.

You should try it. You would be the first to have seat covers with the unique rotor insert exposed.

Thats what I did. And they fit very tight. You need to press very hard to clip them.
But looks good. The trick is don't velcro the hole.

Anybody have the Mazda OEM seat covers for the GT (leather)? If so, how does it feel? Will it lower the amount of sliding around in the seat when hard corners are taken? Thinking of investing in it, but not sure if it will eliminate the sliding vs. cloth seats...thanks!!!

I have them on my '05 Shinka (w/"parchment" leather). They're a bit less slippery than the leather—though, as I recall, not quite as grippy as the cloth seats in my '05 Miata.

Just bought a 2005 AT -- looking for seat covers. I have looked at some web sites(aside from Mazda's own), wondering if anyone can recommend non-Mazda seat covers . . . thanks for any help.

I'm really impressed by the OEM covers I bought used. Very good fit and look and very easy to clean.

OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer. You can get them from the parts manager at your local Mazda dealership.

I have the Shinka leather seats as well, and my back sweats when i'm driving for an extended period.

I'd like to know if these OEM seat covers alleviate the back sweat thing.

installed them last night, used them today in 80 degree weather, and i'm not impressed.

the back sweat was minimized, BUT now my legs seem to sweat more. i think i'm going to be selling these.

i have an 1:15 commute and today's high is 87. beautiful. i'm selling them $100 local. i'm already losing $40 so i'll leave them on for as long as i can stand it.

i just noticed a few minutes ago that i'm starting to get farmers tan too. time to leave some tank tops in the car for the drive home.

i just don't like using the a/c. i'll take fresh air whenever i can.

i got mine from onlinemazdaparts.com for $140 free shipping.

i think these covers are coming off sooner than i think. i'll probably reinstall them in the wintertime if i don't sell them by then.
