I don't think any factory nav is going to compare to a good aftermarket one as far as image details go. However, only factory nav systems have all the extra gyros and speed sensonrs required to allow the system to work in tunnels and around tall buildings.
I like my nav. Its never gotten me lost. This, like the RX8 stereo generates alot of very different answers. You either like it or hate it, there is no in between
1) Screen is a little larger than aftermarket.
2) Dont have to "hide" it for fear of theft.
3) Built in looks better than a stalk.
4) It works. Far better than Mapcrust.
Bad
1) Cannot download/upload new maps
2) No touch screen inputs, cumbersome to enter addresses.
3) Location of joystick and switches make playing while driving too easy. Kinda dangerous.

you use the joystick to select the letters on screen. as you select letters, it removes the letters that dont exist in the street name, which makes entering a name relatively painless.
