Well done Herc! I love how the doors have large speakers.. enough room for the biggest 6.5" aftermarket mids.

Musta snuck in and grabbed some classified info, hmmmm?

Looks encouraging for those of us who want to install some decent sized drivers!

Speaking of 6.5" aftermarket mids, did anyone notice that the diagram for the bose said 9" for the door speaker? Hey Herc, is that a typo?

Whoa, 9" subs in the doors on the Bose!

Even the stock system doesn't look to be under-speakered.

With 9" woofers in the doors, does anyone else think after a while they're gonna rattle something fierce? I predict lots of Dynamat group buys on this forum in the future. :p

Nah, I don't expect the 9" woofers to rattle too much. I think the bass will mainly come from the rear 6x9s that are on the deck. Seems more likely.

Are we really sure it will be a 9" woofer?! I can't imagine being able to fit that in there. Bass out of 6x9's.. yeah right.. :p

I don't think they will. Remember, the current Miata Bose setup comes with 8" midbasses in the doors. They are attached solidly enough, and they really aren't driven with enough power to shake things around too much. I wouldn't be surprised if the same goes with the RX8 setup (forgive the scepticism, please).

If you'll notice, paired with tweeters, the 6x9s are suppoda be midbasses, not woofers.
