Options for NAV
Options for Navi (corksport and others)
Hi guys,
I'm still having a huge debate on whether to install a corksport kit
My cons for the corksport kit are:
-really really really expensive
-I think it ruins the look of the dash, (i dont like the spaces on either side of the avic that end up looking like grey plastic)
I'm basically thinking of buying one of those aftermarket screen enclosures (the ones that pop up like the factory nav), the problem is
I can't think of what I could use that with if I still have the OEM Stereo.
Is there an all in one screen that could be mounted in one of those enclosures that actually has NAV?
Thanks in advance guys!

You could go down the path that I have started (just bought the equipment but haven't installed anything yet). I had factory nav but am not happy that there is no map upgrades past 2005.
I bought a Kenwood
KOS-V1000 Carportal
KNA-G510 Navigation Module and
KOS-L702 Screen
The KOS-V1000 has speaker level inputs so you can input the audio from the factory HU, you can pass through the audio. The KOS-V1000 has a ton of other features and accessories for connecting an ipod, blutooth, harddrives with music/video files, etc.
I'll be mounting the screen in the factory nav housing. I'm probably going to be replacing all my speakers too but haven't made any decisions yet. A Carputer would probably have been cheeper (even though I got spme pretty good deals on this stuff). I just thought this solution seemed a little cleaner.
After I get everything installed I'll post more info.
