Question Night Lights

Can someone with the night lights accessory explain what exactly they are? In the picture and from a few posts I've found here, it looks like the night lights provide a dim lighting around your feet. Is it limited to one color? Are these lights controlled by a separate switch, or do they tie in to the system in order to turn on when the parking lights are turned on? Where are the lights actually mounted?

They're mounted under the outside mirrors (look up underneath yours and you'll see plugs that can be removed for these lights.) Alas, only found on the European version, and maybe the Japanese. I believe they activate with your remote control or when you open the doors.

Also on the Australian models. 8_wannabe is correct... they switch on when you use the remote buttons or when you open the doors.

Wait ... I thought the outside lights were a different accessory. In the picture shown in the RX-8 accessory brochure (from their site) it shows a light in the floorboard area with some chicks legs. It doesn't really look like a shot on the outside of the door.

I just looked at the online accessory PDF and it does show them to be the inside lights. Nice legs by the way. Are the mirror lights not available in the states? If not can you buy them anywhere and get them installed later? I wanted that option.

That is my #1 most wanted add-on: the outer mirror courtesy lights. A few suppliers have been importing the clear corner lenses, now it's time to step up and get some of those mirror lights. THAT'S what I'm looking for. That, and the factory service manual.
