I just finished my install for my audio setup. Audison amp, hertz subs, JL speakers all around, and an Avic-Z2. I can't even hear my engine anymore when I bump it Just need to clean up all the wires and make everything look nice again.

any good quality aftermarket will sound better then the bose. it's the nature of the beast with most factory systems. The average consumer of a car doesn't even think about the stereo so manufactures spend the least amount of money on it.
Nice install.
Besides the added bass, is there a huge improvement above the stock Bose system?
As sad as it is to say this. I think the speakers in my Nissan sentra, that are made out of card board, sound better then the bose audio. I think I'll use my old bose speakers a a coaster.
For some reason my heat/fan dials don't light up with my metra kit. Did you come across this issue? Even if not, any idea how to fix it? :S all the buttons and stuff work and the ac button and such light up when pressed, but the illumination on the dials and stuff dont illuminate :S

The problem is most likely is the extension cable that goes from the black box to the temperature side (not the fan side) of the HVAC controls. You can try removing that cable, and plugging the connector from the HVAC control directly into the black box. If that solves it, you can call Metra's support line and ask for another extension cable. If not, it is probably the black box.
All of this is assuming that your display dims at night, and gets brighter and darker with the car's dimmer. Does it?
I just recently bought a double-din stereo and nav system but I just cant figure out where to put everything.(Black box that comes with the kit, all the wires for the wiring harnesses, and the nav module itself) Any and all help would be appreciated. Also when I plugged everything in just to test it I got no sound. I am positive everything is hooked up correctly and the stereo is brand new from crutchfield.
1) It's a tight squeeze, but it all fits. Use your noggin and find a home for everything before you try cramming the headunit into the dash cavity. I know the wires are always so long they take up unnecessary space or they're so short, you can't place the Axxess box anywhere but directly behind the headunit. But it'll work. See if you can work the Axxess box or a mass of the wiring below the headunit as you're sliding it in. Someway somehow it works. I promise.
2) You don't have the remote turn on lead connected (the blue/white wire coming from the aftermarket headunit).

I have a single din metra, but it could work try moving the box to the far right behind the dash and try to run your wires as smoothly and uniform as possible then try to wrap them neatly behind the unit, or dash that's how I got mine in.
I want to upgrade now to a double din.

I'll mess with it tomorrow but the second tip worked. I actually figured this out before I read it but it worked. Thanks. This is the biggest hassle I have ever had to deal with. I still have the nav module to run as well.
