map light replacement

quick question... do the little plastic covers for the map lights pop off for replacement or do you have to remove the whole unit? probably been asked before but I didnt find anything on it so sorry if this is repost

Yeah it's the whole unit. I just did mine last night. There are 2 metal clips which hold it in place. Those need to be popped off, then you can just pull out the unit.

You have to remove the entire unit. there are 2 screws where the sunglasses go (remove), and there are 2 clips one on the left and one on the right. they are located between the light and the on/off switch. insert a flat screwdriver, and push the clips towards the center, and it should pop right off

Bingo, found it! You don't have to pay attention to all of this, but it has some good pics....especially where the clips are located and how to deal with them. Also............make usre you pry gently and wrap that screwdriver.......don't f'up the headliner.

since you're replacing the map light bulbs anyway might as well convert to leds for all interior lights.
