well first you can start with LED bulbs for the OEM interior lights... many places to find the, http://autolumination.com/ makes some very nice ones. i used the 194 matrix bulbs, forget which one for the dome...

as far as adding your own lights.. one option would be make your own tube lighting. just a string of LEDs in a plastic conduit. you coul wire multi color this way if you wished. i would always fuse everything, so you could use one of the add-a-fuse things for it, and a $5 12V DC toggle from radio shack to turn on/off for just one color, you could get more creative if you did multiple colors. i beleive there are control modules made for powering/switching multiple color lighting(typically for underbody lights) that you could use, some even can tie into your music.

autoillumination is crap don't use em they've gone out in my position and sidemarker lights now 3 times.

I switched to v-leds a while ago and haven't had an issue since and these highpower ones are 10x as bright.

I was thinking of just purchasing the one from AutoZone. It's like a 6" led that is a tube/stick and is bendable. Plugs into cig. lighter and you plug and unplug as you want it.

Cool Lots'o'watts.....

Got a little carried away with the LED thing, modified my overhead map lights to take a 3-Watt blue. That's a huge LED, takes a large resistor and needs a heat sink on the back to channel the heat away.

It was probably overkill, melted a little patch on my overhead console......but LOTS of light !
