Help build my new car!!

Ok guys, so as most of you probably know from this thread http://www.mazdanow.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=94 I am now in need of a completely new system. Everything is gone so I am starting from scratch. The decent thing is I will get a pretty good price for what I had and I am in a better financial position than I was when I first did the system.

I really want to hear of a good 1 or 2 Sub set up with a good amp to push the 1-2 subs. What brands do you guys prefer and I would like to get some suggestions on how the new box should be built. Here is one suggestion I have gotten from an audio buddy, but I don't know if I want to go this high end:
1 - 10" Boston Acustics G5
1 - Bostn Acustics GT22 Amp (4 channel)
1 - 10" Boston Acustics GTR10 Passive Sub

He thought I should put the GTR10 facing one of the rear seats with the Magnet exposed and then place the Sub facing the rear. With the Amp plexiglassed in behind the GTR 10. Leaving me the entire trunk.

That will be quite an upgrade cost wise, what do you guys think?

I was going to save this for a suprise, but I think everyone's input will be helpful. I am going to relocate the stock headunit to the Glove Box and put the Alpine IVA-W200 in its place (custom fiberglass and all). Here are the steps I think are necessary from reading other posts for those that have done it:
- Remove the Circuit Board from the faceplate
- Remove the two pods (CD and Radio Guts)
- Extend wires from the factory harness in to the glove box (I hope to do this by ordering 2 sets of female and male ends that match the current harness in order to create an extension without cutting any of the factory wires.)
- Install the Radio in the Glove box, make sure it is permanently off and I have marked the clock setting buttons.
- Create the fiberglassed piece out of the stock faceplate.

I may have missed a few steps but any other suggestions or input would definitely be helpful.

It looks like I have about a week to decide on what I want to get and I can start ordering and applying my credit for all of the stolen items. I can also order anything else I want at the insurance's wholesale cost (they have most of the good brands).

So what do you think, anyone have some good pictures of setups to show and what brands do you think?

So I went and visited my car today at the audio shop and WOW what a job they are doing. Here is the progress: (no pictures yet, but believe me there will be plenty soon.)

Radio has been relocated to the glove box, glove box is completly, I never used it anyway. He mounted it up top and cut most of the back of the glove box out. I will still have access to change the time and switch it off and on if it comes on for any reason.

Dash piece is almost finished, we will be painting it tomorrow the same piano black that it was. Its looking good too.

Bluetooth microphone is mounted on the dash hidden away.

Still working on mouting the TV tuner antennas, but you won't be able to see them.

The box is built and was almost finished being installed. It is custom done to fit flush agains the back seats, so pretty much it will look like the trunk is suppose to end right where that little hole in the floor is. I lose the pass though but I never used that anyway.

Reverse camera is on the way and will be mounted in the 3rd brake light. Purchased off ebay the 2.8 mm wide angle night and day that everyone recommended.

LED tubes will be put under the front seats to illuminate the back and front foot wells.

Custom ***** are being designed for the A/C *****. Just to be different.

Still thinking of a design for the iPod holder, probably will be in the center console or in the glove box next to the radio.

Also looking for a place to relocate the Start Button. Going back on Monday to see what we can do for those. Hope to have it back by Monday or Tuesday and then I have to put on the side skirts.

4 weeks without a car has been rough, but this is going to be well worth it!!!!!
