Garmin 296 GPS

I'd lide to use this with my car, but currently the power cord dangles down the dash. Is it possible to run the power cord up through the defroser vent? How do you do that. also, I have another reason dealing with my own stupidity for asking this question. A solutio would kill two birds with one stone.

you can run easily remove the ashtray, hardwire the cord behind the lighter, then thread the wire up behind the radio (from the glove box side) to the dash.

I would also remove the top center section of the dash and run it out through there. Or, you could also run it down from the mirror just like a radar detector DIY says.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions! What I have in mind is getting into the defroster vent under the windshiield to retrieve two light bulbs and run the GPS power cord through the defroster vents toa power source to preclude drilling a hole in the dash. Any ideas or experiences?
