Drilling stock shift **** threading

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone know if the inside threading of the stock **** is solid plastic or is it hollow?

I actually have a stock **** I want to put into another vehicle and was wondering if I can simply drill the larger diameter therad pattern directly into the stock plastic threading...

I like the stock **** a lot so I'm not looking for aftermarket replacements...

P.S. Anyone know the weight of the stock **** by chance?

Thanks...
