couple of ipod question
Hi,
I am new to the site and this is my first post, i've had my rx8 for almost 5 months now and i found the site about a week ago and ordered the Audio Link to connect my ipod to my indash radio.
I am trying to figure out the best way to install it and its har with so many posts that talk about it to figure it out, whats the easiest way to install it if i want the ipod to sit in my ash tray or in my glove compartment, do i still have to take the middle console apart?
my 2nd question: is there a way to connect the ipod to where i can display the ipod menu (song info. etc.) through the nav screen?
My Rx8 is a 04 with the bose sound system and with an open cd changer port.
Thanks for any help provided.
Eric

1) yes you still need to take the center console out to install in the glove compartment

Welcome to the forum!
I've done the IPOD install myself and it's not all that hard. For tips you need to search around. Press the search at the top of the page and enter 'IPOD install'. You should find lots of pictures and helpful suggestions. Some are listed by the brand of adapter such as audiolink or OEM (for the Mazda version)
I put my IPOD pictures in the Canada foum but most are in Interior, Audio, and Electronics.
Don't forget the security bolt! Don't forget your towel.

so ive done everything but get the headunit out,
ive also had problems disconnecting the sunroof contols from the middle console
the bottom of the headunit feels like just th bottom of it wants to come out and not the rest, i was wondering if i wasnt getting a grip far enough back, or what exactly.

eh, i managed to get it in,
its not perfectly ran, but for my first attempt at anything like this, its good enough for me.
i live in an apt. complex so didnt have access to any sort of enclosed area.
and that was a typo, it was my nav system contols i couldnt get unwired. I also couldnt get anything undone after pulling the head unit out but managed to slip the plug back there and find the port. its all working now. I dont have a perfect means at setting the ipod at the moment but thats the next task.
